We've been experimenting more with darker hoppy beers lately and loving them. This one was hopped in the kettle with Amarillo and Columbus and then dry hopped with the quintessential combo of Simcoe and Citra. The malt provides a base of whole grain bread and some slightly sweet honey notes. Even with the complex malt character, this is a beer where the hops are still meant to shine and a firm but balanced bitterness leads into classic notes of citrus and pine. The finish is dry and the hop flavours linger just long enough.
