This fresh hop pilsner pours an enticing hAzy, golden straw with a pillowy white head. Unfiltered and raw, this old world lager has an alluring floral aroma with a touch of lemon and spice. An assertive but balanced bitterness counters the cracker-like character from the traditional German malt. Through the middle, the fresh Chinook hops from the VQH farms begin to shine. They bring forth floral and spicy notes along with fresh-cut grass and citrusy lemon aroma. Picked fresh in Eden Ontario, these “wet hops” lend a unique and distinct element to this collaboration brew we did with Beertown. Crisp and crushable, this lager is loaded with flavour but insanely easy to drink. We’ve been working with the VQH Hop Farm for over 3 years now and we’ve forged a pretty strong relationship with their team. They’re one of the few farms growing consistently good hops in Ontario. So when it came to do this years wet hop brew we turned to them once again. But this year, we wanted to try something new, not only with style but with who we worked with.. So we asked Beertown if they’d like to be in on the collab and produce a beer solely for their locations and they were excited about the idea. And for a style we wanted to move away from the pale ale/IPA’s we’ve done in the past. So we settled on brewing a pilsner. We are very happy with the results to say the least. Cheers!
