Zoigl beer, also known as Zoiglbier or simply Zoigl, is a unique and traditional beer style that originated in the northeastern region of Bavaria, Germany. The term "Zoigl" is derived from the German word "Zeichen," meaning "sign," and refers to the symbolic signs displayed by local brewers to indicate the availability of their freshly brewed beer.

We were inspired to make this beer because we wanted to try out a historical German malt called Isaria 1924, an heirloom malt and the oldest commercial variety of barley (approved in 1924). We paired this malt up with a small amount of melanoidin malt and traditional Hallertau hops. We ended up with a beautiful copper lager with notes of honey and biscuit. Enjoy, prost!
