This is an amber California-style lager with notes of light toffee and bread crust with undertones of strawberry. A easy drinking and well balanced lager that is full of flavour.

The first beer our brewmaster ever made back in 2009 was a California Common style beer, in fact made at the current location of our brewery, back when it was a brew-your-own beer/wine. We have come full circle 15 years later by making the same type of style here on a much larger scale.

We special ordered a California lager strain that does best when fermented a bit warmer than a typical lager. This adds more fruit flavour than a typical lager train. We used Northern Brewer, a German hop that is very traditional for this style of beer to add some woody and minty notes, in addition to a fairly straightforward malt bill with just a touch of a special ‘Steam Malt’ for colour.
