Our inaugural take on this classic German style expresses an inviting malt character in the form of caramelized, fresh-out-of-the-oven bread crust, toasted walnut and a subtle whisper of molasses. After this Dunkel went through a four hour-long decoction mash and seven week cold maturation period, it evolved into a dexterous, soft-textured, and moreish copper lager that fills us with memories of hours spent in some of Munich's finest biergartens and brauhauses - stein in hand and not a care in the world.
