We are very excited to introducing a new series here at 46 North, the Zodiac Series!
If you haven’t figured out by now, our brewmaster loves IPA’s. This series will focus on ingredients never previously used here at 46, or in some cases, hop combinates never tried before either.
Our sixth release in this series is Leo.
This beer utilized a new strain of yeast from our friends over at Yeast Canada called "Mango Madness". Believe it or not, this beer was only brewed 6 days ago. Normally our IPA’s take around 2 weeks to finish fermenting. This revolutionary yeast has left our brewmaster speechless. Another experimental aspect of this batch was the hops we used. Leo uses the same hops as our flagship lager Bonspiel, yes that’s right a German style lager. However, our brewmaster manipulated the hops in such a way that fruity and tropical notes shined through.
